The township of COLNE is situated in the extreme north-eastern part of the County of Lancashire. It has a very ancient history pre -dating the Roman Conquest with the discovery of stone-age artefacts. The town progressed to a medieval market town and centre of the wool trade.It is affectionately known as 'BONNIE COLNE'.
